A warm abstract portrait placeholder in terracotta and teal

PhD researcher, writer of margins. I grew up in Colombo with the sea on one side and a wall of books on the other, and I moved to the UK to study how materials remember stress. This journal is where I write down what the journey is teaching me — about labs, winters, and myself.

This site is built like the thing it holds: a journal. Chapters are phases of the journey; entries are its pages. Start at the table of contents, or open the book anywhere — every page stands on its own.

The journey, in waypoints

  1. Two suitcases, Colombo airport

29.4 and 29.8 kilograms. A spice tin in the middle of the larger case, the safest object she owns.

  2. First breath made visible

First frost, first daylight lamp, first sunset before four in the afternoon. The winter becomes a discipline.

  3. The lab pushes back

Impostor hours at 2am, and a supervisor's five framed words: nobody has read everything. Nobody.

  4. Fourteen words, out loud

Eleven silent seminars, then one raised hand. A voice is not something you find; it is something you spend.
